Like a field of lavender just at daybreak, Light Summer is a delicate, yet surprisingly vibrant season. Coming in far on the cool side, Light Summer is also, you guessed it, light. This lightness, mixed with 25% brightness gives your season quite the color card.
Knowing your best colors will help you streamline your shopping trips, trim down your closet to your favorite essentials, and save you from wasting time wondering why certain outfits don’t look as great on you as they did on your favorite influencer. So, if you are a Light Summer, look no further! Let us walk you through this stunning color palette and get ready to watch the compliments (and confidence!) pour in.

With cool undertones and light, low-contrast features, Light Summers have an ethereal and heavenly look. Your best colors are all cool, but their main attribute is lightness. Your worst colors are dark and warm, so stay away from these darker colors, because they will weigh you down, and add darkness and gray to your features.
You can also borrow from your sister season, Light Spring, but try to stay on the cooler side of these colors.
Once you embrace your color season, everything clicks. You’ll be throwing together outfits like a pro, you’ll quit second-guessing your makeup routine, and the compliments will start rolling in. Every day is your red carpet, lady! It’s not because you’ve discovered the perfect brow gel, or whatever it is this month on the tiktok-gram, but because you’re working to enhance your already beautiful natural features instead of trying to work against them. We call that a no-brainer over here!

If you are a Light Summer, your lightness is your dominant feature, from your skin, to your hair, to your eyes. You have little contrast but have an overall lightness that is well-supported by your palette.
Your eyes will be light and have blue and gray undertones. You may even have light green eyes, but they will be a cool green, not a warm green. Your skin is either neutral or cool with beige or pink undertones. Your hair can be icy and light to a medium, ashy blonde to a light ashy brown. Your skin can range from fair to medium darkness and will look perfectly even in the Light Summer Color Palette because your palette honors the lightness and low-contrast look of your features. Your hair can be icy and light to a medium, ashy blonde to a light ashy brown.

When shopping for make up, remember that now that you know your best colors, you can expect to wear less make up than usual. Don’t get us wrong, there’s nothing wrong with wearing more or less make up. It’s just that if you are working with your features to enhance what is already there, there is less to be done than if you were working against your features.
For foundation, opt for lightweight coverage topped with powder to avoid a shiny finish. You may also opt for just concealer in a few areas. We don’t recommend bronzing or contouring, as these often lean warm. Instead, opt for a pink-based contour or skip it all together and go straight to blush! One of the benefits of a color analysis is that wearing your best colors near your face is akin to a layer of foundation.
When choosing eyeshadow, keep the saturation of the eyeshadow to a minimum, you don’t need saturation to glow. Opt for neutrals and an accent color for the highlights, always sheer and not too shiny. And be sure to toss out your black mascara and eyeliner and replace it with a lighter shade of brown, gray, or even aubergine. (Read about Natalie Dormer’s make up look in this article here.)
For blush, refer to your full color palette for cool pink inspirations. The perfect shade will depend on the shade of your own skin. But when looking for the perfect blush, opt for light, matte coverage.
For lipstick or lipgloss, again, opt for a cool, half-saturated pink or red. You shouldn’t opt for something too glossy, you don’t need it to glow.
For nail polish, you can pick a color straight from your palette! You can even choose from this full color palette here.

As you can see, these celebrities have very low contrast between their skin and their hair, and they also all have cool undertones. (Notice the celebrities with blue or light backgrounds in their photos compared to the photo of Jude Law against dark and muted background.)
These celebrities look cohesive and put together in their Light Summer Palette. The blues and grays look lively on them and support the lightness and coolness in their features. The bright, cool pink you see on Alla Bruletova, Margo Robbie, and Naomi Watts is a nice pop of color without being too overwhelming or dragging their features down. If you are also a Light Summer, then you can be sure the same colors will make you glow as well!

We can’t forget jewelry! Because your main attribute is light, your jewelry should reflect that as well. Opt for a light silver over other metals. We don’t recommend warm golds or rose golds as those will be too warm. If you MUST wear gold, go for one that is as light as possible. For jewels, choose stones in your color palette, like lavenders and blues. Aquamarine and pearls are fantastic options as well!
If you don’t already dress in your best colors and the idea of a whole wardrobe overhaul overwhelms you, you can book a Closet Review, Shop With Me, Shop for Me package. But in the meantime, if you are excited to start wearing your best colors, here are my three tips to get a handle on your wardrobe.

You’ve pulled up Pinterest and seen one outfit after another that looks so far from how you dress. But don’t panic! Give yourself time to explore. Now that you know what colors suit you best, that information will never change or go out of style.
If you’re happy and confident in the wardrobe you have now, that’s amazing. You are not obligated to wear only your best colors all the time! If you want to treat your Best Colors like a secret weapon you pull out for weddings, job interviews, photoshoots, or first dates, that’s totally fine!
However, once you start raking in those compliments, it’s really difficult to go back to those colors that weren’t serving you well.
When you’re ready to lean deeper into your best colors and choose outfits that also work for your body shape and lifestyle, book a Closet Review, a Shop With Me, or Shop For Me.
