Cool Winter is, you guessed it, cool. But that’s not all–if you are a Cool Winter, then you also boast high saturation levels and brightness. Your season is varied and well-rounded, so you have lots of options to choose from! If you fall into this color season, then you will of course have a cool skin tone, as well as darker hair and a high amount of contrast.
Knowing your best colors will help you streamline your shopping, trim down your closet to your absolute favorite pieces, and save you from wasting time wondering why certain outfits don’t look as great on you as they did on your favorite celebrity. So, if you are a Cool Winter, look no further, help is on the way! Let us walk you through this stunning color palette and get ready to watch the compliments (and confidence!) roll in.

With cool undertones and high-contrast features, Cool Winters favor colors that are also cool, fairly saturated and fairly bright. If a color is too warm, then get it out of here ASAP as it doesn’t honor your pink undertones.
Once you embrace your color season, everything clicks. You’ll be throwing together outfits left and right, you’ll quit second-guessing your closet, and the compliments will start piling up. Every day is your red carpet! It’s not because you’ve discovered the perfect brow gel, or whatever it is this month on the tiktok-gram, but because you’re working to enhance your already beautiful natural features instead of trying to work against them. We call that a big brain move over here.
You can also pull from your sister season, Cool Summer, but some of them will be too muted for you.

If you are a Cool Winter, your dominant features are cool and contrasty. (Which means that either your hair and skin have contrast or, with darker skin tones, contrast between the skin and the eyes.)
You are cool, yes, but you’ll find your palette has a fair amount of range, with beautiful icy pastels, a wealth of pinks, gorgeous greens and blues, and some bright reds. You can have any shade of skin, but with dark hair. It is very unlikely to be a natural blonde and be a cool winter.
Your eyes can be blue, green, or brown–it’s more about the coolness and the contrast between your features.

When shopping for make up, remember that when you wear your best colors, you can expect to wear less make up than usual. Of course, there’s nothing wrong with wearing more or less make up. It’s just that if you are working with your features to enhance what is already there, there is less work to be done than if you were working against your features.
For Cool Winters, your makeup can be saturated and intense and still look natural because your natural looks are also saturated and intense. Traditional black mascara and heavy smokey eyes are totally fine for you, but be sure to stick with a matte finish for your foundation and leave the glimmer and gloss to your eyes and lips.
You may also opt for just concealer in a few areas. We don’t recommend bronzing or contouring, as these often lean warm. Instead, opt for a pink-based contour or skip it all together and go straight to blush! One of the benefits of a color analysis is that wearing your best colors near your face is akin to a layer of foundation.
When choosing eyeshadow, remember to lean cool. Never reach for a gold or bronze, instead opt for silvery or more saturated blues, greens, or purples tones. Trust us, this makes all the difference.
For blush, refer to your full color palette for cool pink inspirations. The perfect shade will depend on the shade of your own skin. Roses, plums, berries, mauves, and orchids are good places to start looking. Just remember that there are no hard and fast rules for naming lipsticks, so you will have to pull out your color card and compare the colors yourself to decide if the lipstick is cool or warm. Matte or glossy will work for you.
For nail polish, you can pick a color straight from your palette! You can even choose from this full color palette here.

As you can see, these celebrities have high contrast between their skin, hair and eyes, and they also all have cool undertones. These celebrities look cohesive and put together in their Cool Winter Palette. White and black look lively on them, as well as the more saturated colors like the red on Olivia Wilde and the raspberry on Selena Gomez. Notice the cool and saturated blues on Ian Somerhalder, Lauren Graham, and Zooey Deschanel. Even the silvers on Sui He and Kendall Jenner look amazing. If you are also a Cool Winter, then you can be sure the same colors will make you glow as well!

We can’t forget jewelry! Because your main attribute is cool, your jewelry should reflect that as well. Opt for a silver, white gold, titanium, palladium, or even platinum. Aim for pieces that have an intense shine over delicate shimmering–but stay away from “antique” or “earthy” looking pieces. When choosing stones, opt for angled or faced cuts with lots of shine over smooth pieces.
Start Dressing in Your Cool Winter Palette
If you don’t already dress in your best colors and the idea of a whole wardrobe overhaul overwhelms you, you can book a Closet Review or a Shop With Me package. But in the meantime, if you are excited to start wearing your best colors, here are my three tips to get a handle on your wardrobe.

You’ve pulled up Pinterest and seen one outfit after another that looks so far from how you dress. But don’t panic! Give yourself time to explore. Now that you know what colors suit you best, that information will never change or go out of style.
If you’re happy and confident in the wardrobe you have now, that’s amazing. You are not obligated to wear only your best colors all the time! If you want to treat your Best Colors like a secret weapon you pull out for weddings, job interviews, photoshoots, or first dates, that’s totally fine!
However, once you start raking in those compliments, it’s really difficult to go back to those colors that weren’t serving you well.
When you’re ready to lean deeper into your best colors and choose outfits that also actually work for your body shape and lifestyle, book a Closet Review , a Shop With Me or a Shop For Me session!
