Like the beach in the morning, Cool Summer is a muted, yet a surprisingly intense season. Cool Summers are…you guessed it, very cool, with 50% brightness and 50% saturation. Sitting halfway between Summer and Winter, Cool Summers carry the muted palette from Summer with some of the intensity of Winter, giving your season quite the color card. You will usually have lighter skin with pink and blue undertones and medium dark hair but with lighter or brighter eyes.
Knowing your best colors will help you streamline your shopping, trim down your closet to your absolute favorite pieces, and save you from wasting time wondering why certain outfits don’t look as great on you as they did on your favorite influencer. So, if you are a Cool Summer, look no further! Let us walk you through this stunning color palette and get ready to watch the compliments (and confidence!) roll in.

With cool undertones and medium-contrast features, Cool Summers favor colors that are very cool and in the middle of brightness and saturation. If a color is warm or overly-saturated, you will probably notice that it can muddy your complexion or overpower it completely.
Once you embrace your color season, everything clicks. You’ll be throwing together outfits like a pro, you’ll quit second-guessing your makeup routine, and the compliments will start rolling in. Every day is your red carpet, lady! It’s not because you’ve discovered the perfect brow gel, or whatever it is this month on the tiktok-gram, but because you’re working to enhance your already beautiful natural features instead of trying to work against them. We call that a no-brainer over here!

If you are a Cool Summer, being cool is your dominant feature, like Light Summer’s lightness or Bright Winter’s intensity. You are cool, yes, but you’ll find your palette has a fair amount of range, sitting in a Goldilocks zone of saturation and lightness. You will typically have fair to tan shades of skin that is cool. You will also probably have light brown to dark brown hair, maybe even mousy red hair if your skin is pretty fair.
Your eyes can be light or bright, but are typically blue. In some cases, you could have green, muted hazel, or even brown eyes.

When shopping for make up, remember that when you wear your best colors, you can expect to wear less make up than usual. Don’t get me wrong, there’s nothing wrong with wearing more or less make up. It’s just that if you are working with your features to enhance what is already there, there is less work to be done than if you were working against your features.
For foundation, you can go for liquid or powder, as a shine or matte finish is both fine for you. You may also opt for just concealer in a few areas. We don’t recommend bronzing or contouring, as these often lean warm. Instead, opt for a pink-based contour or skip it all together and go straight to blush! One of the benefits of a color analysis is that wearing your best colors near your face is akin to a layer of foundation.
When choosing eyeshadow, remember to lean cool. Never reach for a gold or bronze, instead opt for soft whites, grays, and taupes. And be sure to toss out your black mascara and eyeliner and replace it with a deep gray or navy. For eyeshadow, opt for silver, gray, navy and muted whites.
For blush, refer to your full color palette for cool pink inspirations. The perfect shade will depend on the shade of your own skin. Roses, plums, berries, mauves, and orchids are good places to start looking. Just remember that there are no hard and fast rules for naming lipsticks, so you will have to pull out your color card and compare the colors yourself to decide if the lipstick is cool or warm. Matte or glossy will work for you!
For nail polish, you can pick a color straight from your palette! You can even choose from this full color palette here.

As you can see, these celebrities have medium contrast between their skin and their hair, and they also all have cool undertones. These celebrities look cohesive and put together in their Cool Summer Palette. The blues and grays look lively on them and support the lightness and coolness in their features. The medium, cool pink you see on Kimberly Williams-Paisley and the blue on Luke Thompson is a nice pop of color without being too overwhelming or dragging their features down. If you are also a Cool Summer, then you can be sure the same colors will make you glow as well!

We can’t forget jewelry! Because your main attribute is cool, your jewelry should reflect that as well. Opt for a silver, white gold, or even platinum and avoid big gold pieces close to your face.
For stones, white, pink and grey pearls are always a good idea. Moonstone, rose quartz, aquamarine, blue lace agate, and amethyst are also great for your season.
